Meet Dr. Lamb

Patrick W. Lamb, M.D.

Dr. Patrick W. Lamb is a third-generation plastic surgeon who is board-certified in general and plastic surgery.  His clinical interests include breast surgery, body contouring, cleft lip and palate surgery, the treatment of skin cancer, and aesthetic surgery.

Originally from Fargo, Dr. Lamb graduated from Fargo South High School in 2005. He attended the University of North Dakota, earning a BS in chemistry with an emphasis in biochemistry in 2009 followed by his Medical Doctorate in 2014. From there, Dr. Lamb continued his medical training at the University of North Dakota’s General Surgery Residency Program. He was awarded the Outstanding Resident of the Year Award in both 2017–2018 and 2018–2019 before completing the program in 2019. He went on to complete his plastic surgery fellowship at the Summa Health System/NEOMED Program in Akron, OH in 2022. During this time, he earned the Fellow of the Year Award in 2020–2021.

Dr. Lamb looks forward to contributing to the strong tradition of the Cleft Lip and Palate Clinic of Fargo and Grand Forks. He has conducted clinical research in secondary cleft rhinoplasty correlating factors that improved outcomes. He has participated in a medical mission with Promise for Haiti and has plans to continue working with them in the future. He also looks forward to giving back to the University of North Dakota through medical student and resident education.

Serving Fargo and Grand Forks for more than 50 years, Lamb Plastic Surgery was started in 1963 by his grandfather, Dr. Donald L. Lamb, who trained in plastic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh and was North Dakota’s first plastic surgeon. Dr. Donald L. Lamb also started the Cleft Lip and Palate Clinic in Fargo and Grand Forks, which continues to this day. Dr. DL Lamb retired in 1995. Dr. PW Lamb’s father Dr. Donald R. Lamb, who trained in plastic surgery at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, joined Lamb Plastic Surgery in 1991 and practiced until 2022. Dr. DR Lamb had a long history of training 4th year medical students at the University of North Dakota, general surgery residents at Sanford Health, and lectured in speech and language pathology at both Minnesota State University – Moorhead and the University of North Dakota.

Donald R. Lamb, MD., FACS

A second generation plastic surgeon, Dr. Donald R. Lamb joined Lamb Plastic Surgery in 1991. He is highly-trained and board certified in plastic and reconstructive surgeries.

Originally from Fargo, Dr. Donald R. Lamb graduated from Fargo South High School in 1976. He attended the University of North Dakota, earning a BS in medicine in 1982. He continued his education at the University of Utah School of Medicine, attaining his Medical Doctorate in 1984. From there, Dr. DR Lamb returned to the University of North Dakota for his residency in General Surgery, and completed his plastic surgery fellowship at the University of Wisconsin in 1991.

Throughout his career, Dr. DR Lamb has also been instrumental in the Cleft Lip and Palate Clinic of Fargo and Grand Forks. He has performed reconstructive plastic surgeries on several humanitarian mission trips to Ecuador, Peru and Haiti.

Helping to develop tomorrow’s health care professionals, Dr. DR Lamb also is involved with training 4th year UND medical students and general surgery residents at Sanford Health. He also lectures students in speech and language pathology at both Minnesota State University – Moorhead and UND.
